Mark T. Hornsby
Mark brings more than 30 years of experience in corporate finance, merchant banking, and private equity experience combined with significant corporate restructuring and business development experience across a broad array of industries. He has managed or significantly participated in a wide range of M&A and financing transactions as well as numerous strategic planning projects with aviation, aerospace & defense technology, energy, shipbuilding, medical devices, and other high tech or specialty manufacturing, as well as healthcare and insurance service businesses both domestically and internationally.
Prior to RiverHawk Worldwide, Mark also served as a Managing Director for The RiverHawk Group LLC, a middle market merchant-banking firm that he co-founded in 1996. He provides a broad range of financing and corporate development services to the Firm. He also currently serves as a Managing Director of Development for the CLH Group, a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), focused on acquiring, managing and building capability across three main sectors: aerospace/defense and secure logistics; medical device manufacturing and healthcare technology research; and critical national infrastructure protection and redevelopment.
Mark's experience also includes having served as the Director of Special Projects for River Capital, one of the oldest private equity firms in the Southeastern United States, where he specialized in restructuring the firm’s investments in aviation services companies as well as identifying and consummating investments in precision manufacturers of medical devices/products, aircraft components and ground service equipment. Prior to River Capital, he spent six years in the Corporate Finance and Restructuring groups at Ernst & Young, where he focused in three industry areas, specialty manufacturing, healthcare and insurance. Prior to E&Y, Mark served on the President’s staff at Southwire Company, the largest privately held wire and cable manufacturer in the United States at that time, as a mergers and acquisitions analyst.
Mark has a Bachelor of Science (Engineering) from the University of Georgia and an MBA in Finance from Georgia State University.

Richard C. Johnson
Rich brings 35 years of global investment banking, commercial banking and asset management at leading firms, such as J.P. Morgan and Guggenheim Partners. Being based in Washington, DC, he also brings a wide range of local relationships with global institutions, including government agencies, NGOs, embassies and financial firms.
For over 35 years, Rich has reviewed and analyzed thousands of companies, business models and strategies, management teams and business plans of all kinds across several different industries around the world. Over his career, Rich has developed extensive experience originating, structuring and advising on private placements, public offerings, and M&A transactions in a wide range of sectors. Rich has broad and deep capital markets expertise, and brings expertise up and down the capital structure – ranging from bank loans, investment grade and junk bonds, mezzanine debt, to preferred and private and public common stock. Rich’s experience ranges from start-up to established companies, and he has the unique ability to work with clients through all phases of the company’s development – from an early-stage to mature stage. Rich has global industry experience in a wide array of different industries. All of his experience allows Rich to show a path forward for a small company, and Rich is passionate about helping entrepreneurs and sharing his deep and broad experience. Rich’s experience and exposure touches every corner the world and across North America, South America, Europe, Middle East and Asia. Rich has worked on, performed due diligence, and closed on transactions in 40 countries, and he has reviewed and vetted transactions in over 100 countries around the world.
Throughout his career, Rich has developed a deep and broad network of the brightest visionaries across several industries, and all of the potential team members have distinguished themselves in their careers. Rich has a BS in Accounting & Marketing from the University of South Carolina. During his career at JPM, he completed several training and development programs to enhance the practical exposure to real-life financial market transactions and are customized and designed to link the classroom experience to the job. Rich completed the following training programs: 1) Corporate Finance (HBS), 2) Investment Banking (HBS), 3) Credit Analysis (C. Justin Rogers
Justin brings a blend of traditional investment banking, corporate restructuring/turnarounds, M&A and business development experience domestically as well as internationally gained working for leading Fortune 500 firms. He has significant startup, venture capital formation, and governance expertise from early stage and startup projects as an officer, investor, Board member, and advisor to technology, medical, and energy startups. He has also provided consulting and advisory assistance to venture investors, alternative asset managers, wealth managers, banks, and family offices. In addition to having raised venture capital for firms at all stages of development from top quartile international firms, he has led teams that competed for and won grants and government investments including DOE awards and multi-agency SBIR’s.
He started his career developing technology and analytical models for Salomon Brothers’ Office of Chairman planning strategy, reorganization, and business line reorganization for the bank. Prior to graduate school he worked in the Corporate Finance and Strategy practices at Ernst & Whinney serving as acting CTO for a global Engineering and Construction firm. Still working part-time, he completed a full-time MMA at the Kellogg School. He then transitioned into hands on corporate leadership doing turnarounds and workouts in heavy manufacturing, industrial processes, and industrial distribution. Working with acquirers, corporate parents, banks, and owners he served as senior operating management supervising all phases of daily operations while providing guidance to stakeholders and markets to enable troubled enterprises to survive, restructure, or liquidate to new ownership.
Justin’s experience includes serving as management, lead fund raiser, and IP portfolio manager for startup technology companies. His roles have included responsibility for corporate governance, Board relations, capital formation, legal affairs, and investor relations. After a decade in that space, he and his former management team formed an advisory firm serving founders, VC’s, Boards, and wealth managers. In addition to his commercial activities, he has been active in charity fund raising and volunteering for Therapeutic Riding, food pantries, veteran’s welfare, youth sports, and conservation. Justin graduated from St Lawrence University (B.A) where he studied Asian History and Economics. He has completed various academic training classes including data/mathematics at Columbia University and International Affairs at ASU’s Thunderbird School.
