RiverHawk Clean Energy Solutions, LLC (RCES) is a new Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS) company being formed as an Independent Power Producer (IPP) that will develop customized microgrid and distributed energy resource (DER) facilities to offer advanced base-load carbon-neutral and zero-carbon power generation solutions in the United States and Canada. RCES’ modular microgrids are designed to be rapidly deployable, robust, highly scalable, and cost effective.
Our pre-engineered modular microgrid solutions are offered in standardized capacities of 1MW, 5MW, and 10MW configurations, and can be combined in any combination of the three for scalability. For sites with significantly larger base load requirements, such as data centers, we can also provide modular transitional power for construction and start-up phases from 10MW up to 250MW with “behind-the-meter” carbon-neutral natural gas and flex fuel solutions. We also offer 1MW and 5MW portable power systems for disaster relief and development site support.
RCES believes that our portfolio of clean power solutions is uniquely positioned to target difficult to reach difficult markets around the world. In conjunction with our various strategic partners, RCES has a full toolbox of carbon-free and carbon neutral alternatives for both dispatchable, base-load, and intermittent power requirements, and the Company can objectively match a clean power solution to a wide range of power needs. Further, our clean power technologies can complement each other and offer a diversified source of clean, firming capacity and substantially reduce the overall levelized cost of energy (LCOE).
In the near term, as RCES supports the clean energy transition to advanced 4th generation micro modular reactor (MMR) technology, the Company has developed a readily deployable portfolio of advanced transitional clean energy solutions, utilizing advanced flex fuel and hydrogen powered generation that will complement its future MMR offerings and address the challenges associated with intermittent solar, wind and hydro-powered energy production and storage. The company is not wedded to any individual carbon-free or carbon-neutral technology but can offer a range of single source or hybrid generation options from the most advanced providers of nuclear, flex fuel/hydrogen, wind, solar, or hydro generation equipment and battery energy storage technologies. Leveraging our pre-engineered, modular microgrid solutions, RCES will develop sites in coordination with tribal leadership and natural resource developers supported by long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs) and select government clean energy and economic development incentives.
There is a pressing need to replace existing diesel and other inefficient fossil fuel sources for electric power and process/district heat in industrial applications and in remote areas with clean energy power solutions. RCES brings unique abilities to the development of robust and sustainable microgrids in remote and austere environments and in remote communities. In particular, we are focused on providing reliable clean energy to remote villages, natural resource developments, and mine sites in Northern and Northwestern Canada, the majority of which are Indigenous-owned or on Indigenous lands, that are overwhelmingly reliant on diesel fuel for heat and electricity generation. Given the large range in user requirements, the need for more than one technology to meet all market applications will be critical to these communities.
RCES’s partners have extensive experience in developing energy and infrastructure projects with First Nation partners and we will have an initial end-user focus on Western and Northwestern Canada. RCES’s lead partner in Canada is a First Nation owned independent power producer (IPP) entity. For the past 25 years, our team members have worked in the energy sector and with Indigenous communities in a variety of senior advisory and executive roles.
In the long-term, we plan to develop and deploy advanced 4th generation nuclear power facilities. Remote indigenous villages and mining sites are an ideal application of rapidly developing MMR technology, which we believe is an ideal long-term approach to providing safe nuclear power in environmentally sensitive, and often extreme, austere environments.
Modular and Customizable Battery Energy Storage Solutions
Phantom River Energy, LLC draws on decades of experience developing specialized systems for deployment in remote and austere environments for the US Department of Defense and US Department of State. Our team was established to expertly develop, construct, and integrate versatile turnkey Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) capable of harnessing energy from a variety of renewable sources, fuel generators, or grid power. These comprehensive solutions reduce expenses, facilitate seamless deployment, and deliver enhanced reliability, sustainability, and afford ability to a wide array of industries.
Phantom River's integrated power solutions offer reliable, all-purpose charging for workplaces, multifamily residences, and fleet depots. These solutions offer businesses and property owners new revenue opportunities to generate revenue while providing a highly desirable and necessary service for their customers and tenants. Our mobile systems can be strategically prepositioned in disaster-prone areas. This ensures quick access to stored energy during critical moments, reducing response time and minimizing the impact on communities.
The Phantom River BESS systems can efficiently harness solar energy from any type of solar panel or other renewable resource, providing a sustainable power source and emergency backup. Our versatile design allows for seamless calibration, ensuring continuous power supply while promoting a greener future and reduced reliance on traditional energy sources.
Our high-capacity BESS units are designed to be interconnected and infinitely scalable. They are microgrid ready and can be scaled to any amount of battery storage and power output from 50kWh to a Giga-Watt Hour and beyond.
In conjunction with our US-based battery module suppliers, Phantom River's BESS Units are designed to accommodate a broad range of current and future battery cell technologies and pack configurations.
